In 2019, I was elected Member of The European Parliament. I promised to my voters that I would work for a fairer, more equal and more inclusive Europe and I did eagerly from day one.
On behalf of my Group, I negotiated the Creative Europe Programme, the only European fund to support the cultural and creative sector worth €2.44 billion to preserve and foster the cultural diversity in Europe.
As a former artist, being aware of how much these sectors were affected during the pandemic, in 2021 I took the lead in a parliamentary initiative highlighting its importance for the EU economy and society and called for a status for artists, especially those working cross-border, to provide them financial and social safety.
The European youth has a voice that needs to be listened to. I supported and contributed to the #Renew4Youth Manifesto because, young Europeans have a say regarding their own future and their ideas and demands need to be heard.
